Did you see Jeremy Alters just won a billion dollar verdict.....against the Cuban government. Could you imagine if at the end of the hearing Judge Adrien denied it or granted a JNOV?
It's nice to win, Jeremy, but it's no fun when the other side won't put up a fight!
Me, I plan the usual diversions. First and foremost is to pump those endorphins, then I plan to learn more about something called a "Marinelli bend," study how certain people hold their glasses, and of course I will probably wind up in Davie gazing at a Lover's Moon.
Actually, I do plan to sit still long enough to watch the new Churchill war movie on HBO, Into The Storm. What can I say, Churchill war porn always does it for me, folks.

With the nasty weather and the mid-year billing analysis coming up, Saturdays have the look and feel like a Tuesday. Full house and no getting away with a a few hours in the morning. Those brave souls who cut out around lunch time reported receiving emails from their bosses like "It must be nice" or "you're coming in Sunday to finish up, right?"
I've been plugging away since 7 Am, and I was not the first person in today by a long shot. I may wrap it up around 8 and net about 6-7 billables today which is a nice boost.
There's fear in the air, and don't think the partners don't know it.
PS- catered lunches/dinners went out with the RE bust. Subway Tuna sub for me. 6" at 12, 6 at six. Life of an associate in fear.

I;ve never seen a weekend like this around here at the big G since I've been here. It's partly the weather, and it's partly the fear of more layoffs. But if you can't bill 2100, you're history. Over the course of two days I've managed to snark away an additional 12.5 billables.
Think of it like this- do that every week and it's an additional 100 hours a month- which translates to 1200 hours a year and just by working weekends I'm more than half way home to my 2100.
It's rough inside these hallowed halls- but it's rougher out there, so back to research, interrogs, and depo reading.
