Alana Roberts confirms and expands on the Akerman pay cuts we talked about Monday:
One source said the cuts may not affect all of the firm’s associates in the same way over time.Oh come on. I think this source is blowing smoke, and job cuts are probably already on the table.
“The associates who are performing on a very high level probably won’t at the end of the day receive pay cuts. They’ll get taken care of in bonuses,” said one of the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Cuts were made in response to the difficult economy, which has resulted in slower-paying clients, more clients demanding discounts and a decline in demand for legal services.
“The thought process was to preserve associate jobs,” the source said, while noting the firm remains financially strong.
“There’s no doubt that it’s harder to collect money. That’s the case in every business, but Akerman has been strong,” the source said. “They don’t have a lot of debt. They’re in a lot better position than a lot of other firms.”
I hope I'm wrong.

FIRST! Celebrity legal branding started with the guy here who invented Shumie Time, branded it, marketed it to death (remember the shumie time blog) sold out for millions, and now lives on Fisher Island and happily collects 6% on his money.
A little chunky, but doable in an 'off night' kind of way.
Nick is full of himself. 8:13 has a point though.
um, girls? nick's " business" partner - Mr. Dix, may cut you, if you get near him. And, uh, there may be chunck underneath the shoulder pads and suit that is four sizes too small. Branding, and all.
Nick doesn't even know what he is talking about.
I love that the women who read this blog and comment, are as randy and single-minded as the boys who do so.
Nick has no celebrity but he might after this blog gets through with him.
What a corny press release. I never know what to say about those because some are just so full of fluff, that it's ridiculous.
SFL, I also wanted to let you know that I gave you a shout out and big thank you today on my blog. You're awesome.
I prefer these corny press releases over the dreck the SAO puts out...
Worst press release ever.
