Hmm, I'm no amateur WWII scholar (ok, I am), but last I checked it's not that good an idea to open up a second front while merry olde England is still alive and somehow surviving -- you know, blood, toil, tears and sweat and all that.
Yet Alan Kluger's war against the allegedly fake Mr. Chow's continues (our prior coverage is here, here, and here) with a second front launched in LA by celebrity lawyer Bert Fields:
Taking a look at the suit pending before Judge Hoeveler, it looks like the motion to dismiss is fully briefed and has been pending since August 26th, and there is a motion to strike certain exhibits from the motion to dismiss that is also pending as of September 8th.As with the Miami lawsuit, Michael Chow is seeking more than $10 million in damages, according to the Los Angeles filing.
"My friends and I have enjoyed dining at Mr. Chow’s for many years," says Fields, who has represented the likes of Tom Cruise and Joel Silver. "Many of us entertain there .... So I’m personally affronted when this former food chopper and his cynical backers try to make money by imitating everything Mr. Chow does."
Morfogen had called the Miami lawsuit meritless. A motion to dismiss was filed in Miami federal court in July.
Good luck getting to Moscow before the winter sets in!

That's a nice museum Alan lives in.
Man, I love how civil lawyers rag on the criminal bar. But the civil world is so very boring. What a waste of precious judicial resources. Two angry restaurant owners arguing over who really created Moo Goo Gai Pan or whose name is REALLY Chow and who is the WANNA BE Chow.
Say what you want about the criminal bar, but we go to court against the State and the Feds, we try interesting cases and we duke it out over cases that make the headlines, newcasts and serve to fuel CourTV and the like.
Face it, when was the last time you heard Wolf Blitzer say: "An update from the Situation Room- more developments in the Chow vs. Chow case. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
And how many of you will bill your reading of this blog as a .3 to some unsuspecting client or clients?
Pleading for the 1000th time to a reduced charge is so much more exciting.
Night At The Museum Part III: Alan Strikes Back!
Right, civil cases never make headlines or important law . .
Yes, like Julio's MRI Center of Hialeah a/s/o of Julio's cousin Margarita vs. Mercury Insurance for those ever elusive PIP benefits is really why we went to law school.
@12:44-- Go blow yourself.
12:44 is somewhat right.
I'm a former AUSA and now do civil work exclusively for a large firm. Criminal (or even family) is more interesting and fun, but civil pays the bills. So civil it is.
The standard crim is rote and repetitive. Get real.
Wow, there is really much useful info here!
