It was in Hallandale, off 441. A gray building, black letters... but I can't pull up the name.
Yep, off of 441.
The Buttonsouth?
It was a smaller place, with a Greek name perhaps, just north of Young Circle is my recollection.
Last guess... The Agora Ballroom. "Agora" must be Greek.
Gemini lounge?
Enough. Tell us.
Boom Boom Lounge?
Who cares.

I honestly don't remember, that's why I was asking -- it was a real dump is about all I recall.
it was the Agora Ballroom; later became the Button South.
The Police never toured Miami in '79 suckers.
They definitely played in Hallandale on their first US tour.
Someone has a recording of this show from Hollywood, FL, May 4, 1979: The Police Live Recordings Page
Awesome find; looks like a great set too!!
The person who maintains that Police Live Recordings Page thinks the show was at Fat Cats. My investigative work is done here.
