I hate to be all Debbie Downer today but when you read an order like this your mouth goes agape and pretty much stays that way until you obtain and down a shot of whiskey to help forget what you just read.
Not all that sad - seems like there was a sad source of the assets.
In any event, any experienced criminal defense lawyer would have had a non-refundable fee and there would have been almost no issue re the funds, except that whole admission to the district thing.
The total fee really wasn't that high for the type of case.
